Obituary of MarKay Zluky
Katherine MarKay Zluky, age 73 of Whitehouse, NJ, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Hanover Twp., PA, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Ruth Rovinski. MarKay grew up in Hanover Twp., PA and had lived in Somerville, NJ before moving to Whitehouse in 1969.
She was a graduate of Hanover Township High School, class of 1958. After graduating MarKay worked for the Hollywood Shop and the Miner's National Bank, both in Wilkes-Barre, PA. After moving to Whitehouse she worked for the Hunterdon County National Bank in Whitehouse. She continued her 25 year career through several mergers before retiring as Assistant Branch Manager at Wells Fargo.
MarKay was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a former member of the Choir. She was one of the founding members of the Crafts of NJ Tool Group. She was a member of the Early American Pattern Glass Society. MarKay loved music and played the guitar and piano. She had a large sheet music collection. Her favorite hobby of all was porcelain painting.
MarKay is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stephen M. Zluky and her sister, Joan Nocera of Plains, PA and her niece, MarKay Nocera.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home,
103 Old Hwy. 28, Whitehouse.
Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Slovak Cemetery, Courtdale, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
