Obituary of Margaret Koury
WHITEHOUSE STATION - Margaret B. Koury died Monday, December 30, 2013.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Mary Mardini.
Margaret lived in Brooklyn, and then Bridgewater before moving to Whitehouse Station 10 years ago. During the time she lived in Brooklyn, in addition to being a mom to her three sons, Margaret had cared for her Mother-in-Law.
She was an avid painter, writer and community volunteer. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, in Whitehouse Station, NJ. Her love of community and service was only second to her love of family. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and had a unique ability to make each one feel special in her own way. She blessed them with warmth, encouragement, laughter and unconditional love. Margaret can be described as a thoughtful, independent, strong, humorous and selfless woman. She touched many lives and will be missed and fondly remembered in spirit by all who knew her.
She was predeceased in 2002 by her husband of 43 years, Joseph J. Koury.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Philip and his wife, Diane, Joseph and his wife, Holli, and Paul and and his wife, Jacqueline and six grandchildren.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday January 4, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday January 2 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Friday January 3 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington.
