Obituary of Paul Denning
Paul Denning, age 48, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died at home on Thursday, January 30, 2014 after a brief illness.
Paul had resided in Westfield before moving to Whitehouse Station 19 years ago.
He was proud to be a Marine for over 20 years. He served two tours in Iraq and was currently serving in the Reserves with 314 out of Philadelphia as CWO2.
Paul worked for NJ American Water in Short Hills as Production Manager, starting with the company over 18 years ago when it was Elizabethtown Water. He was instrumental in the building of the new water treatment plant in Short Hills.
He was a volunteer firefighter with the Whitehouse Fire Company for many years, founded and participated in an annual charity event that honors a fallen brother Marine and a victim of 9/11, and a coach for the Readington Recreational Baseball. Paul was a great lover of animals and was personally responsible for the rescue of many pets throughout the years.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Catherine, his daughter and sunshine, Marcella and his awesome son Paul Nicholas, both at home. He is the son of Robert, of Westfield, and the late Marcella A. Denning, whom he adored. He is also survived by his two brothers, Richard Denning of Cranford, and Robert Denning, Jr of Fanwood, two sisters-in-law, Greta Nock and Liza Boan, both of Cranford, Aunts, Uncle, Cousins, two nieces and six nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, NJ.
