Obituary of Alice Needham

Alice Needham, age 80, a longtime resident of Westfield, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Country Arch Care Center in Pittstown, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Wysocki. Alice graduated from Eastside High School in 1951. She worked as a secretary for Merck Pharmaceuticals from 1981 until her retirement in 1993. Later she worked as a secretary at Temple Emanu-el in Westfield. Alice loved to read in her spare time, enjoyed being with friends, was master at New York Times crossword puzzles, and was an avid Scrabble player. Alice was predeceased by her sister, Theresa Christensen and her brother, Richard Wysocki. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carrie and Jonathan Greene; her brother, Carl Wysocki and his wife, Josephine of Port Reading, NJ; her sister, Veronica Valia of Sebastian, FL; and her four cherished granddaughters. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse NJ 08888. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10 AM at St. Catherine of Siena in Pittstown, NJ. Entombment will be private.
