Obituary of Mary E Knapp
Mary E. Knapp, age 89 of Whitehouse Station, NJ died peacefully at home on Thursday, April 10, 2014.
Born in West Glover, Vermont she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Urie. A resident of North Branch for 60 years, Mary moved to Whitehouse Station in 2005.
She was a member of the North Branch Reformed Church where she volunteered her time and talents to numerous fund raising efforts of the church. Mary lived a simple and rich life. She loved the outdoors, birds, music and sewing. She was a master at refinishing furniture and created beautiful braided wool rugs and quilts. She was a devoted grandmother and her grandchildren credit her with teaching them the "essentials" of life.
Mary was predeceased by her husband, George in 2012.
She is survived by her three daughters, Carrie Spooner and her husband, Jeffrey of Whitehouse Station, Dianna Gomez and her husband, Al of Somerset and Marcia Lubansky and her husband, Dwight of Flemington. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Kari, Coryn, Gregory, Jessica, Jacob and Joshua, and 5 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be celebrated in honor of Mary and George Knapp on April 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the North Branch Reformed Church in North Branch.
