Obituary of Charlotte Janiszewski
Charlotte Janiszewski, age 95 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
Born in Bedford NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Hicks.
Charlotte had resided in Manhattan for over 60 years before she moved to Whitehouse Station six years ago.
She worked for many years as a cafeteria supervisor in the NY City School PS 13.
She was an active member of St. Emeric's Church in NY City during her time living there. She was a resolute Union member of District Council 37. Charlotte loved going to the theatre and enjoyed watching movies.
She was predeceased by her husband, Henry in 1997 and her son, Charles in 2002.
Charlotte is survived by her son, Henry Janis and his wife, Arlene of Sumter, SC; her daughter in law, Doris Janis of Cape Coral, FL; her 9 grandchildren, Brian Janis, Kevin Janis, Kim Roman, Kenneth Janis, Dawn Janis, Terri O'Leary, Jackie Terceira, Lianna Taylor and George Kupczak. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse NJ 08888
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Calverton National Cemetery on Long Island.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Brigid-St. Emeric Church, 119 Avenue B, NY, NY 10009 or a Veterans Organization of your choice.
