Obituary of William F McDermott

William F. McDermott, age 86, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late William and Florence McDermott.

William had lived in Scotch Plains and Branchburg before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1992. He resided with his son, Tim and his wife, Nancy and his grandchildren, Nicholas and Makenzie.

He was a veteran serving in the United States Army during WWII.

He was predeceased by his wife, Madeline in 1999 and his son, Billy in 1983.

William is survived by his two sons, Tim and his wife, Nancy of Whitehouse Station and Jack and his wife, Pam of Neshanic Station; his four daughters, Kathy Swanciger and Joe Colucci of Whitehouse Station, Kathleen Lasch of Toms River, Joyce Triano and her husband, Joe of Toms River and Dorothy Swanciger and her husband, John of Neshanic Station. He is also survived by his 20 cherished grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

A funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, May 19 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28 Whitehouse, NJ 08888.

Burial will be in St Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater.
