Obituary of Elaine E Cousins-Neary

Elaine Cousins-Neary of Pattenburg, NJ, and formerly of Berkeley Heights, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 after a valiant three-year battle with cancer. Elaine devoted herself to creating a full and interesting life for her son, Charles (C.J.) Neary Jr, and daughter, Alexandra (Alex) Neary. She loved her farm animals - in particular; dogs, horses, nature, gardening, music and reading. She was an accomplished horsewoman and dancer. A graduate of Governor Livingston Regional High School, she attended Raritan Valley Community College and earned a paralegal certificate at Seton Hall University. Before the birth of her children, she worked for attorney, John Lynch in Martinsville. While raising her children, she did the accounting for her husband's excavation company and sold eggs, honey, herbs and flowers from the farm. She was predeceased by her father, Robert G. Cousins, who died in 1984. In addition to her son and daughter, Elaine is survived by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Neary Sr., her mother, Dorothy Cousins-Tator and her husband Pierson; sisters, Susan Cousins Breen and her husband, Gary and Allyson Cousins O'Connor and her husband, Pete; granddaughter, Kylee Neary and grandson, Dylan Neary; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews, including Shawn Breen and Kelly Breen. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 30 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Pittstown. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale.
