Obituary of Nan McDonald
Nan McDonald, age 86 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ.
Born in Pittston, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary O'Malley. Nan lived in Branchburg before moving to Whitehouse Station 10 years ago.
Nan was a real estate agent for Weichert Realtors in North Branch, working for 25 years until retiring 2 years ago. Nan was a member of the National Association of Realtors as well as a member of the Weichert Million Dollar Sales Club and the Million Dollar Marketed Club. She served on the Weichert Community Service Committee for 5 years working with the Somerset Food Drive, and she was also the Committee Chairperson at Weichert for the Toys For Tots program for 15 years.
She was a member of the Women's Club of Branchburg and the League of Women Voters in Branchburg. Nan was very artistic she loved to garden and travel and enjoyed the Jersey Shore.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard James McDonald who died in 1993, and her brother Thomas O'Malley.
Nan is survived by her 4 children, Kevin and his wife, Trudy of Nazareth, PA; Rick and his wife, Kristen of Washington, NJ; Maureen Delaney and her husband, Scott of Bushkill Twp., PA; and Marianne McDonald of Whitehouse Station. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Brian, Katie, Shannon, Rich and James.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 Route 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889. A luncheon will follow at 10:45-1:45 at Stoney Brook Grille, 1285 Route 28 (Easton Turnpike) North Branch, NJ 08876.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
