Obituary of Walter Stephen Murawski
Walter Stephen Murawski, age 83 of Lebanon, NJ, died Sunday, August 10, 2014 at his home.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Walter and Marie Murawski. Walter had lived in Lebanon for the last 43 years.
He was a fisheries biologist, for the Department of Environmental Protection, Division of fish, game & shell fish for 43 years.
He served in the Air Force and the Naval Reserves.
He attended Cornell University where he received a master's degree in Ichthyology.
Walter was a member of the American Fishery Society, the NJ Audubon Society and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 6930 where he had served as Grand Knight. He was a member of Genealogical Society and had been tracing his roots for over 50 years; he was so proud of his Polish heritage. He was a wonderful husband and was so proud of his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his sister, Sally Murawski.
Walter is survived by his wife of 61 years, Susan (Schultz) Murawski; his son, Matthew Murawski and his wife, JoLynn of Harmony Twp; his daughter, Claire McGill and her husband, John of Annandale; his sister Catherine Brown, his five grandchildren, Amanda, Marie, and John Jr. McGill, and Morgan and Erika Murawski as well as many relatives and friends.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Entombment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Annandale.
