Obituary of Viola Daniels

Viola May (née Savrda) Daniels, 88, passed away on September 21, 2014, at The Alive Hospice Residence, Nashville, TN. Viola was born on May 31, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY. While lovingly raising 5 daughters, Viola was also very busy in the community. Viola worked as a real estate agent in Hunterdon County for more than 30 years. She volunteered as a Sunday school teacher, and held various leadership positions in 4H and scouting. She was an accomplished seamstress and an artist who showed her oil paintings in local shows. She loved to grow beautiful flowers and plants in her greenhouse on Front Page Farm and Nursery in Stanton. Viola was also a founding member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Lebanon and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hobart Chapter, Califon, NJ. She is preceded in death by: her parents Jerry and Lillian (née Brinkman) Savrda; her sister Lillian; brothers Charles and Jerry; and her husband Charles Edgar Daniels. Viola is survived by: her sister Anna (Burt) Szulc; daughters Diana C. (Hugh Barfield) O'Daniel, Nancy L. (Charles) Kniese, Maureen D. Daniels-Tichy, Candice E. (Michael) Aloisio and Jacquelyn D. (Arthur III) Snyder. Her 12 grandchildren: Nanette (Chris) Thiel, Ryan D. Pehrson, Sean P. Pehrson, Alan L. (Emily Hodge) Pehrson, Lauren M. (Mark) Cruz, Andrea D. Tichy, Kathyrn W. Snyder, Grace H. Snyder, Christina M. Aloisio, Arthur Snyder, IV, Audrey L. Snyder, and David J. Aloisio; and two great grandchildren Brenda and Brittany Thiel. Visitation is from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday, September 26, 2014, at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ. Funeral services will follow with a ceremony by Hobart Chapter No. 63, Order of the Eastern Star of Califon, NJ. Burial services will be held graveside at Newell Cemetery, Foothill Road, Stanton, NJ. The family requests memorial donations be made to Alive Hospice, 1710 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203, or at www.alivehospice.org in recognition of the love and kindness given to Viola on her journey.
