Obituary of Catherine Markwith

Catherine Markwith, age 50 of Raritan, NJ, died suddenly on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. Born in Summit, NJ, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Lagattuta) Markwith of Queensbury, NY. Cathy grew up in Springfield, NJ and had lived in Basking Ridge, NJ before moving to Raritan, nine years ago. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. She had a true love of all animals but had a special place in her heart for her birds and cat. Besides her parents, Cathy is survived by her sisters, Alisa Markwith of Queensbury, NY, Jean Abbey of Westfield, NY, and her twin sister, Christine Markwith of Raritan. She is also survived by her niece, Kimberly DellaPorta and nephew, Robert Becker. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, 500 US 22, Bridgewater. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to the Countryside Veterinary Hospital, 270 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804 for the All Cat Kinship program.
