Obituary of Alexander Tscherwinski

Alexander Tscherwinski, age 85 of Readington Township, NJ, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home in Menlo Park, NJ. Born in Russia he was the son of the late Gregory and Anna Tscherwinski. He had been a resident of Readington Township for 69 years. Alex was an Army Veteran and had proudly served our country during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook, NJ. Alex had belonged to the Sanger Halle German/American Social Club in North Plainfield. He loved spending time in in the outdoors and working in the garden. He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude in 2013 and his son, Peter in 1992. He is survived by his sons, Michael of Chester Springs, PA and Daniel of Bangor, PA; his daughter, Monica VanAssen of Lecanto, FL and his five grandchildren, Bobby, Lori, Susan, Rachel and Abigail and his three great grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. A service will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 AM. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, 551 Rt. 28, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
