Obituary of John Samila

John Samila, age 97 of Burlington, NC, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Hospice Home in Burlington, NC. Born in Irvington, NJ, he was the son of the late Anthony and Julia Samila. John lived in Whitehouse Station and Three Bridges before moving to Burlington in 1981. He and his wife, the late Violet (Cwik) Samila had owned and operated the Miracle Freeze Restaurant in Clinton, NJ. John was an Army Veteran of WWII and former member of the American Legion Post 284 of Whitehouse. John is survived by his sons, Leonard J. of Burlington, NC, Frank E. of Aurora, CO; and his daughter, Carol S. Naegele of Kingsport, TN. He is also survived by his sister, Sylvia Shive of Clark, NJ, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard's Cemetery Mausoleum in Bridgewater.
