Obituary of Joseph John Pawlikowski

Joseph John Pawlikowski, age 65 of Whitehouse Station, NJ died Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Rita Pawlikowski. He had lived in Secaucus before moving to Whitehouse Station 18 years ago. Joe was an army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a high school history teacher for Hillcrest Academy in Scotch Plains. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station, Joe volunteered his time there, teaching CCD and cooking for the Shepherd's Meal. He was devoted to his seven children and nine grandchildren. Joe enjoyed teaching and loved telling jokes that made everyone smile. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Paul Pawlikowski. Joe is survived by his wife, Christine Jungblut; his son, Joseph Pawlikowski and his wife, Kelly of Yorbalinda, CA; his daughters, Vera Pawlikowski and her husband, Sherwood Tidwell of Irmo, SC, Sarah Touma and her husband, Kal of Columbia, SC and Helen Miller of Hines, Georgia; his step-sons, Robert Jungblut and his wife, Thais of San Diego, CA and Brett Jungblut of Marina Del Rey, CA; his step-daughter, Jessica Jungblut of Whitehouse Station; his three brothers, James Pawlikowski and his wife, Lynn of Moorestown, NJ, David Pawlikowski of Lyndhurst, NJ and Father Matthew Pawlikowski of OK; his two sisters, Elizabeth Lutomski and her husband, Richard of Colonia, NJ, Marianne Mason and her husband, Robert of Chantilly, VA as well as his sister-in-law, Ellen Pawlikowski of VA. Joe is also survived by his nine grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Burial will be private.
