Obituary of Michael P. Sorice
Michael P. Sorice, age 86 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Monday, December 1, 2014 at the Holly Manor Center in Mendham, NJ.
Born in Port Washington, NY, he was the son of the late Michael and Rosena Sorice. Mike lived in Port Washington, Long Island before moving to Whitehouse Station in 1990. He also spent the winter months in Vero Beach, FL.
Mike was an Army Veteran of World War II. He worked for 38 years in the United States Post Office in Port Washington. Mike started as a letter carrier and retired in1984 as a mail clerk.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6930 and the Lourdes Seniors. Mike loved to golf and garden and would teach anyone who showed the least bit of interest the game of Black Jack.
Mike was predeceased by his wife, Grace Sorice who died in 2010.
He is survived by his two daughters, Diane Bowser of Morristown, NJ, and Nancy Ottaviano of Placientia, CA. He is also survived by his brother, John Sorice of Sleepy Hollow, NY and his sister, Antoinette Kerr of Morris Plains, NJ and his four grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Entombment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Annandale.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
