Obituary of William Werner

William Werner, age 92 of Readington Twp., died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Brandywine Asssisted Living in Bound Brook, NJ. Born December 30, 1921 in the Bronx, he was the son of the late William and Katherine Werner. William was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a V.P. (Accountant) at Exact Level & Tool Co. in High Bridge before his retirement in 1981. He grew up in Silver Beach in the Bronx and received a B.A. from New York University. He moved to Hunterdon County in 1950 and then to Puerto Rico in 1981 where he lived for thirty years. He was a founding member of the Hunterdon Sailing Club which was established in 1963. Sailing was his passion. William also enjoyed gardening. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Virginia (nee) Spoon Werner who died on February 1, 2014. William is survived by his son, Paul Werner and his wife, Molly; his sister, Eileen Ziegler; his nieces, Dale, Kathi, and Randi and his nephew, Tom. Services will be private.
