Obituary of John DeStefano

John E. "Jack" DeStefano, age 73 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away Saturday, December 27 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. Born in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Krug) DeStefano of Bridgewater. Jack was a resident of Whitehouse Station for the past 50 years. He was the Owner and Operator of American Tire Service "Goodyear" in Hillsborough. A dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station, Jack served as a lector for many years. He loved fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles and spending time in the outdoors. His greatest joy was in spending time with family, especially his grandchildren! He enjoyed sharing stories with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his sons, Anthony in 1991 and Jack in 2003. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Alexandra "Sandy"; his two sons, Michael of Flemington and David of Whitehouse Station; his two daughters, Laura Reichert and her husband, Eric of Kingwood Twp. and JoAnne Oldenburg and her husband, Trevor of Kingwood Twp; his two brothers, Edward DeStefano and his wife, Kathy of Whitehouse Station and Robert DeStefano of PA; his two sisters, Carol Seddon and her husband, Cyril of PA and Marie Hunter of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his 9 beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Virginia and Isabelle DeStefano, Sophia DeStefano, Rebecca and Nickolas Reichert, and Jordan, Jack and Travis Oldenburg. Jack will be sadly missed by all of his cherished friends, especially Richard and Carol (Dilley) Lindaberry and their children of Kingston, MA and by Frank Czyzewski of Flemington. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 31 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, December 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Somerset Hills Learning Institute, 1810 Burnt Mills Road, Bedminster Twp., NJ 07921.
