Obituary of Kirsten Ammeen

Kirsten Ammeen, age 49, of Oldwick, NJ died Monday, March 9, 2015. Born in Montclair, NJ she was the daughter of Beverly Jane Sjogren of Bridgeton, NJ and the late Walter Sjogren. Kirsten lived in Warren before moving to Oldwick thirteen years ago. A massage therapist and Reiki Master, she worked for the Spirit Spa in Oldwick before becoming self-employed. Kirsten was an amazing mother and fiercely dedicated to her daughters. She had a unique passion for animals and used her knowledge of massage therapy to help them. Kirsten was very intelligent and unusually creative. She opened Kindred Spirits in Montclair and for many years sold art, literature, clothing and jewelry (some of which she created) centered on holistic healing and our natural world. Simply put, Kirsten was humble and extremely kind. Along with her mother, Kirsten is survived by her best friend and children's father, Jeffrey Ammeen; her two daughters, Jade and Aja, both at home; her two sisters, Allison Grasso of Forked River and Lori Blethen of Bridgeton; her two brothers, Wade and Walter Sjogren, both of Bridgeton. A funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:30 AM at St. Luke's Church in Long Valley.
