i knew "reilly" from the illis' tavern days. many times, he and yatz and myself would close the place. always reemmber the cooperstown trips, they made lifelong friends at the vfw in cooperstown. my wife and i were recently in norfolk and went theu the naval museum there. ther is a large photo of the uss liberty arriving in port after being attacked by isrealie planes. he talked about it with me often. (my dad being a fellow navy guy). i took a cell pic of this shot because on the ship plain as day, is bob. i would LOVE to send it via my cell phone to someone so they can download it for future memory. i'm sure he wasnt even aware it was there. i never got a chance to show him. please email me a cell number and i'll send along asap! my condolences, bob was a great great guy. we are all better for knowing him!

Uncle Bob,
Though we never really saw each other much, when we did it was like we had never been apart. You made me laugh until my stomach hurt and definitely knew how to make me feel special. Gram always told me the stories about the names you and your brothers called her and how angry she got but she also never failed to tell me she'd always love you boys no matter what. Thank you for being a blessing in my life and making me feel special whenever we were together. And as you would always whisper in my ear, "I love you always".... Rest in Peace Uncle Bob. You will forever be missed.

Brother, we spent many early years together, when the girls were little. I will always remember mom and I going to see you on the weekends. You and Linda did a fine job raising the girls, which have now become beautiful women. I will miss you RB and your brother KJ will miss the fly fishing at the club. You rest in peace with all of our family. KJ and I will always love you and proud to have been your sister and brother. Until we meet again....Jill Ann and KJ

Dad you were one of a kind and lived by your own rules. You were always good at retelling the same stories. Now it is our turn to do the same and keep your memory alive.
I will treasure our time together and hold our memories close to my heart. I will always make sure that your grandkids know who their Pop Pop was!
Until we meet again! Love you always! Pretty Pumpkin

Very sad to hear of Reilly's passing. Memories of his friendship with my parents at the VFW post and always think of the night he took us all to the Texas Steakhouse and what a nice time we had. He was a good guy. RIP Reilly. Sending prayers to his family.

I knew Bob's dad and served with him aboard the USS Liberty. I knew both Riley brothers. I also know a lot about what these men were put through after the deliberate attack on the USS Liberty. One of them suffered a spell of some kind at one of our reunions. It was because of shrapnel still in his head and evidently close to his brain. I didn't know Bob but if he is anything like his father, he was one fine man.
