Obituary of Gegory A Spanner
Gregory A. Spanner, beloved husband and brother, age 59, died suddenly in Easton Hospital on April 15. Born in Elizabeth, NJ on December 11, 1955, he was the youngest child of the late June and Julius Spanner.
Greg grew up in Watchung and Bridgewater, NJ. He later lived in the Lebanon area before settling in Williams Twp., PA with his wife Ann.
He spent most of his life as a building contractor. He was a member of the Wilson Borough Republican Club, the Safety First Vol. Fire Company of West Easton, and the Palmer Vol. Fire Company.
Greg was an animal lover and had many dearly loved pets through the years. He was a devoted bird watcher and a gourmet chef. He relished entertaining family and friends with his myriad cooking skills. In his younger years, Greg was an avid skier. He was a passionate Boston Red Sox fan, New York Jets fan and followed NASCAR racing closely. Greg loved "beaching" with his family for most of his life in Cape May each summer where he would sit and opine his conservative views between body surfing stints.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of thirty three years, Ann (Klynstra) Spanner, his brother, Louis Spanner and his wife Karen of Pittstown, NJ; his sister, Kathleen Griffith and her husband, Craig of Lake Charles, LA and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A life celebration will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Friends may meet with the family from 10:00 am until time of the service.
