Obituary of John B Person
John B. Person, age 78 of Clinton Twp., NJ died Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington.
Born in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late George and Winifred Willets.
John had resided in this area his entire life.
He graduated from Fort Lauderdale University in 1969.
He was the founder of Person & Tucker Meat Processors in Clinton Township, currently called Game Butchers.
John lived a rich and full life. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. A Free Mason, he belonged to the Darcy Lodge in Frenchtown. He was a member of the Whitehouse Rotary, the 7th NJ Volunteer Infantry Organization and was one of the founders of the Hunters Helping the Hungry, Norwescap organization, he was also a member of the Readington Volunteer Fire Department. John won many awards as a sharp shooter.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Joyce in 1965.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Janice; his three sons, John Jr. and his wife, Ann of Glen Gardner, James of Clinton and Jeffrey of Flemington; his two half-brothers, Nils Person of Madison and David Person of Braintree, VT and his four cherished grandchildren, Molly and Megan Alderman-Person and Austin and Adam Person.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, May 23 at 2:00 PM at the Stanton Reformed Church, 1 Stanton Mountain Road, Stanton, NJ 08885.
