Obituary of Gary E. Frendak
Gary E. Frendak, age 68, of Basking Ridge, NJ died Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ.
A lifelong resident of Bernardsville/Basking Ridge, he was the son of the late Paul and Miriam Frendak.
Gary was a graduate of Bernard's High School. He worked for NJ Bell/At&t until his retirement in 1996. He then started his own company, Acme Communications.
Gary was a lifetime member of the Basking Ridge Fire Company, was a past President and served three times as Fire Chief. He was a member of I.B.E.W. local 827 and a past member of local Union 102. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association, the NJ Beekeepers Association and a lifetime member of the NRA. Gary will be remembered most as a good and just man.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Katherine Ann.
He is survived by his wife and childhood friend whom he married in 1965, Annmarie DeCoster Frendak; his son, Tim and his wife, Jennifer of Changewater; his daughter, Colleen and her husband, Burt Furnari of Bloomsbury; and his son, Matthew of Shohola, PA.; his granddaughters, Daphne, Fiona, Ana, Eva, Tess, Tally and Charlotte and a great-grandson, Phineas Matthew. He is also survived by his brother, Jack and his wife, Enola Frendak of Florence, SC.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bernardsville.
Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Basking Ridge Fire Company or to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
