Obituary of Joseph R Podchaski
Joseph R. Podchaski of Readington, NJ, died at home on Saturday, November 17, 2012 after two years of living with cancer.
Born on April 12, 1943 he was the son of the late Stanley and Mildred Podchaski. Joe grew up in Harrison, NJ and had lived in Hillside for 25 years before moving to Readington in 1998.
Joe was a graduate of St. Peters Prep. and St. Peters College in Jersey City. He attended Rutgers University, working toward an MBA.
He was a production manager having worked for American Cyanamid in Bound Brook during the Vietnam War before retiring from ICI Americas in Bayonne after 30 years of service in 2001.
Joe was a member of the Hunterdon County YMCA Live Strong Program which his family attributes to his two year survival.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn (Jezek) Podchaski and his two sons, Alex Podchaski and his wife, Tanya of Clinton Town; and Dr. Eric Podchaski of Cranberry Twp, PA; and his precious granddaughter, Regina Marie.
A funeral liturgy will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale, NJ.
Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Annandale, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822
