Obituary of Theodora M. Napolitano
Theodora Napolitano, age 87, formerly of Berkeley Heights, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Holly Manor Center in Mendham, NJ.
Born in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Mary Pone. She grew up in Trenton and had lived in Berkeley Heights for over 50 years.
Theodora was a registered nurse, working first at Runnells Hospital in Berkeley Heights and then for over 25 years as a school nurse for the Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison NJ. She also worked simultaneously as a camp nurse for Camp Riverbend in Warren, NJ for 30 years.
Theodora was a communicant of the Church of The Little Flower in Berkeley Heights. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Teddy was also an avid traveler, and delighted in baking her Easter bread and hundreds of Christmas cookies for her family and friends. Her many recipes will live on for future generations.
She was predeceased by her husband, Francis George Napolitano, who died in 1980 and by her brother, Alphonse Pone and sisters, Marie Francica, Gloria Palmere and Ann Chiarello.
Theodora is survived by her sons, Wayne and his wife, Peg of Branchburg NJ, Richard and his wife, Debbie of Richmond VA; her sister, Vivian Giovannetti of Trenton, 4 grandchildren, Allison Napolitano, Michael Sibilia, Cheyenne Jones, and Asher Perkins, and many nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 2:30 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 12:00 - 2:30 PM.
