Obituary of Eugene Drozdoff

Eugene Drozdoff, age 83 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died peacefully at home Thursday, January 3, 2013. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Matthew and Sophie Drozdoff. Gene grew up in Lakewood, NJ. He graduated from Trenton State College in 1951 and received a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Arts Education. He also earned a Masters in Education from Rutgers University. Stationed in Germany, Gene was a Korean War veteran. He taught Industrial Arts at Roosevelt Junior High School in Westfield, NJ, and was department chair for most of his teaching career. Gene was and avid fisherman and talented woodworker. Active in AA for over 25 years, he was an inspiration to many people. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy; his two daughters, Leanne Spurlin of Landisville, PA and Melissa Drozdoff of High Bridge, NJ; his niece, Patricia DeRose of Schertz, TX; and two nephews, Matthew Drozdoff of Hampton Bays, NY and Keith Perrone of Schertz, TX. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Whitehouse United Methodist Church. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
