Obituary of Irene Poniatowski

Irene Jean Radomski Poniatowski, departed to be with her heavenly father on January 12, 2013, at the age of 88. She was born in her family home on July 27, 1924 on Mountain Road in Lebanon, New Jersey. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Mary Radomski. Also by her brothers, Felix, Al, George, and Stanley Radomski, and by sister's; Cecilia Radomski, Mary Dutka, and Helen Van Roy. Irene was a founding member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. She was a member of the National Wildlife Foundation and enjoyed reading poetry. Irene attended Whitehouse Elementary School and Hunterdon Central High School. After school she would take the train (which her father was one of the conductors) that ran from Whitehouse Station to New York City, to attend The Barbizon School of Modeling. Irene worked at R.C.A., Ethicon, and finally retired from American Hoechst. She was an avid flower gardener. Irene was always busy tending and keeping her flowers beautiful. Irene was as pretty and lovely as the roses in her garden. She is survived by her son, Mark Poniatowksi and wife, Lynn of Bath, Pennsylvania, her daughters, Jacqueline Marshall and husband, Ernie of Christiansburg, Virginia and June Harrell and husband, Burke of Dublin, Virginia. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Shelly Poniatowksi, Luke and Lance Marshall, and Nathan and Sandra Zimmerman, and 5 great-grandchildren. Also by her twin sister, Sophie Geist and brother Charlie Radomski. In addition to many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Annandale, New Jersey. Burial will follow at Saint Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater. "Don't sit under the apple tree, with anyone else but me."
