Obituary of Joan Stokes

Joan Stokes, age 78 of Flemington, NJ, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Born in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Cortese. Joan had lived in Lebanon before moving to Flemington 28 years ago. Joan was a paralegal for several law firms before joining AT&T. She retired as a manager after working at AT&T for 20 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Noel P. Stokes, who died in 1996. Joan is survived by her two daughters; Noelle Bruccoleri and her husband, John of Readington, and Maureen Stokes of Staten Island; her two sons, Michael Stokes and his wife, Rhonda of Summerville, SC, and Brian Stokes of Ohio. She is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Sherman of Stafford, NJ and her seven grandchildren, Kristi, Michael, Max, Lexie, Danny, Kelli and Caitlin, and her great granddaughter, Zoe. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Magdalen's Church in Flemington. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Hwy. 28, Whitehouse, NJ. Burial will be in Rural Hill Cemetery, Whitehouse.
