I met Jim in 2004 when I was living on Metlar lane in Readington. We both worked out at HealthQuest Gym and quickly became friendly. We became friends while he was Police Chief of Readington and I was a Superior Court Officer of NJ. He was a great guy who always showed interest in my job and my life. I was lucky enough to meet his lovely family when they all attended a 4th of July party at my house. Through the years I would see Jim at local eateries, when he was on duty, or just on his motorcycle. He was a good man and we are all less fortunate that he is no longer with us. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Valerie and their two girls. My condolences also go out to the Readington Twp Police Dept. God Bless you all.

Dear Val, Chelsea, and Marina, I know how terrible your loss is. We were at a veterinary conference in Florida when we heard the sad news. My deepest sympathy to you and I want to express my sorrow for not being able to attend the service. I was so lucky to have known Jim for the past 27 years and have been fortunate to care for your family's pets. Let me know if I can ever do anything for you. Jimmy was loved by all and will never be forgotten. Dr. Karan

Dear Valerie, I want to offer sincere condolences to you and your family on the tragic loss of your husband. You may not remember, but you and Jim performed a "Random Act of Kindness" to my husband and I a few years ago after the town's annual Memorial Day Parade. We were trudging home on Rt 523 in the heat and he pulled over and offered us a ride home, which was greatly appreciated. As we chatted I remember thinking "What kind and friendly people live in our town". So I just wanted to share that memory with you. I'm sure Jim will be missed immensely by you and your family, and also by those whose many lives he has touched.
In sincere sympathy, Pat and Jim Dougherty

Jim and Valerie were my first New Jersey neighbors when I moved from Virginia. Jim was so helpful to me in navigating a new state. He was so full of fun. I remember the Trivial Pursuit evenings and the Saturday bbq's. He loved life, his wife, his kids and his work.
May he rest in the arms of God and may peace come in time to Valerie and his whole family.

All my prayers and sympathy to the family. What can you say about Pago. I grew up with Jim, and all i can say is he was a great guy.He was someone I was always glad to spend time with or even to just run into around town. As teens and kids we had a great time. I remember being on the same baseball team with jim, and even back then he was someone the other kids looked up to. Some times Jim just seemed bigger than life itself. Jim was someone who knew how to have a good time, make you laugh. and he also knew how to be a good friend when you were down. He would listen and knew when to be serious. I will always cherish knowing Jim, and i will always feel honored and blessed to have been able to call him friend. RIP my friend,You left us way to soon. But will be in our hearts forever. To the girls, your dad will always be with you. God bless all of you. Rich Plesnarski

My heart goes out to the family on their great loss. I had the privilege of knowing Jimmy from 1966-1972 as a classmate. He was a friend to be proud to know. Even though I have not seen Jimmy since the late 70's his was one of those names that came up quite frequently when reminiscing back in the day. We would send acknowledgments back and forth through people we both knew. He had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and loved. Please take comfort in knowing that he will be forever overlooking your family and will always remain in your hearts. Peace Jimmy. Ruth, Class of 72

My deepest sympathies go to the family. Our community has suffered a great loss. I remember when I watched Chelsea and Marina in my home with Sara and Jennifer. Everytime he came to pick up the girls I saw the brightest light in his eyes. I never saw a father that loved his daughters as much as he. When he spoke of Val not only could you see the love he had for her in his eyes but you felt it as well.
I remember when Amy, my German Shepherd had a litter of puppies and each time he would come and pick up the girls we had puppy time. And of course during the warm weather he would throw the tennis ball to Amy in my back yard as we spoke about the kids. I will always keep that memory of hime throwing that ball to the dog as she greeted him at heavens gate with that same tennis ball in her mouth.
May you sleep in the epace of Christ. May God ease the suffering that Val and the girls are going through at this moment. Treasure each memory and know that he is with and shall always be there to guide you.
