Obituary of Ceil D. Lopez

Ceil Lopez, age 83, passed away on February 18 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Born December 20, 1929, in Orange, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Giacinto (James) and Maria Francesca D'Annunzio of Vasto, Italy. She graduated from Orange High School and the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. She was a recent resident of Bedford at Falls River in Raleigh, NC, where she was founder of the community activities club and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Luke the Evangelist Church. An active community member, Ceil was a Girl Scout leader, and also volunteered at Somerset Medical Center, Naples Community Hospital, and Mcauley Hall at Mt. St. Mary Academy. She was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Ann's, Naples, Florida and St. John's of Lakehurst, New Jersey. A very talented needle pointer, she was an avid reader and skilled scrabble player, and she made the best raviolis. She will mostly be remembered as a wonderful woman who was much loved by her friends and family, and who always had a smile for everyone. She was the widow of Bernardino D. Lopez of Mugardos (Galicia) Spain and Naples, Florida, and is survived by her four children, Barbara Arribas of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Bernard Lopez of Robbinsville, NJ, Theresa Urich of Needham, MA, and Mary Johnson of Wake Forest, NC. She was predeceased by her grandson, Paul Urich, of Needham, MA, and is survived by her five grandchildren, Carlos Arribas of New York, NY, Catherine Seaman of Hillsborough, NJ, Francesca Caponetti of Simsbury, CT, Kristen Blankenship and Kyle Johnson of Wake Forest, NC, as well as six great grandchildren, Eric, Isabelle, Emma, and Flynn Seaman and Marisa and Ava Caponetti. Loving family members Andres Arribas, William Urich, Glenn Johnson, Pamela Bearce-Lopez, Eric Seaman, Roxana Arribas, Gary Caponetti, and Ryan Blankenship. She is also survived by three siblings, Joseph, Nicholas and Anthony D'Annunzio. She will be interred at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ, following services at the Kearns Funeral Home and a funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station, NJ.
