My sincerest condolences to the Buchan family and a sad farewell to my good friend of over 30 years. Chris was a great man and we spent many good times together working, fishing, and weekends watching football at the Wonderbar and Cryans. It was great sharing times with Denise and Chris and was privileged to call him my friend. He will be missed by my entire family.

Christopher Buchan…. Not so strange in having to ponder for words that describe such a man. Chris without question had a heart filled with love for his wife, family, and for those less fortunate. Most of us spend a good portion of our lives striving to create a life we imagine in our dreams. Chris lived such a life every day. A life created by his own hand, by his own terms, in his own way. I will miss Chris immensely (His coffee being the exception of course) and always cherish the many conversations that could only ever be defined as unique and irreplaceable.
May God Bless you Chris

Chris is at peace and in the care of our Heavenly Father. I am thankful that he is no longer struggling with health issues and his loneliness. He always treated my sister, Denise, like a princess. and I know he loved her very much. When he was working nights he would call their favorite radio station and dedicate a song to her and call her at home to listen. The radio host got to know the routine quite well.
Chris showed exceptional strength and courage the night that Denise passed. He made difficult decisions to follow his beloved's wishes. I will always remember, and have great respect, for his loving attention to her at this most difficult time.
The tribute that I leave for Chris is "He made the best coffee ever!". He would smile and understand.
To the Buchan family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Chris,
I think of us that Saturday in mid-February of this year. You came over unexpectedly in the morning and we sat at the kitchen table all day long. We had coffee and went through photographs of the family. Brother and sister, both shell shocked from so much loss in such a short amount of time, on a cold and miserable day in the middle of a brutal and never ending Winter.
It was a day when we were just purely ourselves, taking comfort and enjoying each other’s company. We laughed, cried, shared stories and asked many questions of each other. I learned so much about you, things I wish I had known earlier in my life. It is the best day we ever had together and I will always hold it very dear to my heart. It was full of love and understanding. What a beautiful day.
I won’t say goodbye. I will say “bye” for now. Thank you for teaching me so many valuable life lessons. I love you. Your sister.
