Obituary of Carlo A. Piraino

Carlo A. Piraino, Sr., age 82, of Cape Coral, FL, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Morristown Memorial Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. Born in Glen Cove, NY, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rosaria Piraino. Carlo was a veteran of the US Navy and had honorably served his country during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he worked as a Director of Facilities for St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, Long Island where for many years, he proudly played Santa Claus at Christmas-time. Carlo had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed traveling and gardening in his younger years. He loved working on cars, anything to do with woodworking and model trains. He was an excellent cook and expert at recreating recipes. He spent many afternoons attending his grandchildren’s games and activities. He will be sadly missed by his beloved dog, Sandy. He is survived by his four children: Deborah Ann Piraino-Harreguy of NY, NY, Diane Koury and her husband, Phil of Clinton, Carlo A. Piraino Jr. and his wife, Linda Peterson-Rivera of TX, and Robert C. Piraino Sr. He is also survived by his sister, Leena Grandin of IL and his five grandchildren: Robert C. Piraino, Jr., Allison Koury, Christian Piraino, Stephanie Harreguy, and Maddison Koury. A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
