Obituary of Penelope Schaefer

Penelope M. Schaefer, age 75 of Tewksbury Twp., died on Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington. Born in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Deborah McLeod and companion of the late Robert Dallas. A longtime resident of Bridgewater, she moved to Basking Ridge for a time and then to Whitehouse Station where she resided for the last 10 years. Penelope loved everything about the beach. She greatly appreciated all the time shared with friends and family at her second home on Long Beach Island. Penelope was a seasoned traveler, taking many trips throughout Europe and even lived in Spain for a time. She enjoyed the game of tennis, was a tremendous fan of horse racing and art. Penelope had a passion for all animals but she absolutely adored her cats. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Anthony Johnson and his wife, Melissa of Washington’s Crossing, PA; her daughter, Danielle Golden and her husband, Steve of Yardly, PA; her four cherished grandchildren, Alden and Caroline Calcaterra and Trevor and Morgan Johnson and her step-grand children Jack and Dillon Golden. Family and friends may visit with the family on Thursday, October 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
