In remembering Lucy...I think of a cup of coffee and good conversation. I think of her sense of humor and her witty personality. I think of her jokes and her laughter. I think of her gentleness with the children when they came to visit. I remember her taking her time doing the "Lucy Shuffle" when she didn't want to go somewhere. I can still see how her smile used to slowly take over her entire face when she was being feisty.
How do I say, good-bye to such a huge part of my heart? How does one stop the bleeding of that heart when they have lost their Lucy? I don't think I'm supposed to say, good-bye. See you later seems more appropriate. With tears filling my eyes and joy in my heart, I can still hear Lucy singing, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Oh, how I have been blessed to know this precious gem. She has touched my life in so many ways with her love and her kindness...forever.
My heart goes out to Lucy's family who are just as kind and loving as Lucy was. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I pray that you sense God holding your hearts during this most difficult time. What a legacy our Lucy has left. She truly was an enormous part of the Greatest Generation!
