Obituary of Alfred DePena

Alfred DePena, age 87 of Annandale, NJ died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Little Brook Nursing Home in Lebanon Twp., NJ. Alfred was born in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Harmo and Agnes DePena. He resided in Mount Vernon, NY before moving to Annandale several years ago. While living in Mount Vernon he was an active member of Sacred Heart Church and served as the main usher. Alfred was an Army Veteran of WW II. He worked for Adhesive Products, Inc. in the Bronx as the plant manager before his retirement. He was predeceased by his brother Katon DePena and his son Alan David DePena. Alfred is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Sylvia; his sons, Wayne and his wife, Mary Jo, Glenn and his wife Margaret, daughters, Nereida, Carmen, Evelyn, Toni Marie; his brother, James and his sister, Sylvia. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Christine, Robert, Elaine, Amber, Adrienne, Shandani, Simone, Jasmine, Catherine, Nicholas Jr. and Jarred; eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30am at Saint Mary's Church in Mount Vernon. Committal service will be in St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
