Obituary of Joan A. Heymer

Joan Heymer, age 85, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Parker at McCarrick care facility in Somerset, NJ. Born in Jersey City, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Lupinek. Together with her late husband, Robert, Joan raised her family in Piscataway. In recent years she had lived in Whitehouse Station and then Princeton. She worked for Sears as a sales associate and manager for many years. When her children were growing up, Joan invested many hours serving as a Girl Scout leader. She was a great friend to animals and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 2013. Joan is survived by her four daughters, Nancy Heymer and her companion, Michael Castagna of Bayonne, NJ, Patrice Wessel and her husband, David of Whitehouse Station, Janet Chervenyak and her husband, Joe of Piscataway and Lori Corbo and her husband, Angelo of Lakewood; her six grandchildren, Julie Leip, Mia Gnecco, Ian Cullity, Christopher Corchado, Jessica Wessel, and Brianna Ennion. She is also survived by her 4 great grandchildren, Maci Gnecco, Louis Gnecco, Laila Leip and Oliver Cullity. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 19 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM with a service at 3:30 at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. Inurnment will be private.
