Obituary of Hedwig Christoph

Hedwig Christoph, age 101 of Califon, NJ, died peacefully at her home one day before her 102nd birthday. Born in Germany to the late Fritz and Lina Arnold, Hedwig immigrated to the United States when she was 16 years old. She lived in Edison for over 70 years before moving to Califon nine years ago. Hedwig lived a very full life. She worked in sales for 18 years for Bambergers Department Store in Menlow Park. She was a member, and served as treasurer, of the Edison Senior Citizens in the Bonhamtown section of Edison, was a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Menlo Park, and enjoyed many "field trips" to Atlantic City with her group of card playing friends. Hedwig was predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1962. She is survived by her devoted children, Ernest and his wife, Adele Christoph of Edison, Milldred Mellblom of Califon, Barbara and her husband, Kenneth MacManis of Lebanon; her eight loving grandchildren, Kristine & Peter Blaszcak, Barbara & Michael Fusco, Marianne & Rick Rampulla, Paul Mellblom & Peter Farstad, Kenneth & Janice MacManis, Jill MacManis, Michael & Heather Christoph, and Tracey & Martin Toto. She was also blessed with 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Monday, July 8 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. A service will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
