Obituary of Ashok Anand Paul Rapaka

Ashok Anand Paul Rapaka, age 66 of Piscataway, passed away and went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at John F. Kennedy Hospital in Edison. Born in Bhimavaram, India, he was the son of the late Luther and Sundaramma Paul Rapaka. Ashok received his primary education from the United Lutheran Church Mission High School in Bhimavaram, India. He graduated from Osmania University with a law degree. He began his career in the late 60’s as an Administrative Officer/Personnel Manager at Hindusthan Machine Tools Limited in Hyderabad. In 2001 he voluntarily retired from the company and immigrated to the United States. Upon settling in Piscataway, he began working for Braco Manufacturing Co. Inc. in South Plainfield where he was still working as a Personnel Manager at the time of his passing. Ashok was a member of the United Evangelical Christian Fellowship in Westfield, NJ. He also regularly attended his local church, New Durham Chapel in Piscataway. He was a very well read man and had a great interest in current affairs. He loved children and had wonderful way of relating to them. Although not a citizen, he was a responsible tax payer and believer in social justice. He regularly contributed to at least 20 organizations both in this country and overseas. He is survived by his elder brother, Vivek Sundar Paul Rapaka and his younger sister, Mrs. Vijaya Sree both of India; his wife, Mary Nirmala Kumari Paul Rapaka; his elder son, Ravi Paul Rapaka of India, his 2nd son, Kanthi Paul Rapaka of Piscataway, his daughter, Shanti Jammula of Mechanicsburg PA; his eight grandchildren and countless grandchildren of both his immediate family and his church family. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Whitehouse United Methodist Church in Whitehouse. A visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow the service at Rural Hill Cemetery in Whitehouse.
