Obituary of Jean E McRae

Jean McRae, age 87 of Whitehouse Station, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Twp. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late William S. and Helen Eagle. Jean had lived in Berkeley Heights before moving to Whitehouse Station 36 years ago. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry from Cornell University, and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology. She worked as a computer programmer for Bell Labs in Murray Hill, NJ retiring in1989. Jean enjoyed chemistry, photography, bicycle rides, organic vegetable gardening, flower gardening, trips to Bar Harbor Maine and Provence France, bridge, and the New York Times crossword puzzles. She is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Eion, and her sons, Graeme and Colin, as well as her sister Janet Peeler. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, from 12 noon to 1:00 PM, at the Kearns Funeral Home,103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
