Obituary of Alice Quinlan

Alice Quinlan, age 93, of Bridgewater, went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2016. Following a brief illness, her passing was peaceful and surrounded by loving friends and family at Bridgeway Care Center. Born in Orange, Alice spent most of her life in Hillside and moved to Readington in 1996. A full-time homemaker, she and her late husband, Fred, raised their three sons, Fred, James and Robert. Later in life, she was blessed with nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Alice took great pleasure in socializing with the staff and her many friends at Bridgeway, where she was the longest residing resident. She developed a close bond with another resident, Ted Kline, and the pair became well known as master assemblers of elaborate jigsaw puzzles. They celebrated their love in a ceremony with family and friends in 2009 and cared for one another until Ted’s passing two years later. Alice cherished her years at Bridgeway and loved every person there. Alice was predeceased by her son James in 2015. She is survived by two sons, Fred (Eileen) and Robert (Nancy), both of Whitehouse Station and her daughter-in-law, Karen, of Johnson, New York. Visitation will be at Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, New Jersey, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, between 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bridgeway Senior Healthcare Center, 270 Rt. 28, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
