Obituary of Margaret "Margie" A. Chrouch

Margaret Arthurs Chrouch, “Margie”, age 80 of Clinton, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Agnes Maxwell. Margie was a resident of Whitehouse for many years before moving to Clinton thirteen years ago. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station where she served as the Director of Religious Education for 5 years. Our Lady of Lourdes was very important to her and she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, taught religious education for over 30 years and belonged to the church Prayer Group. Margie was a big supporter of Special Olympics and many missions. Her grandchildren were her everything. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael E. Arthurs in 1967, and her second husband, Robert C. Chrouch in 2006. She was also predeceased by her three brothers, Johnny, Jimmy and Joey Maxwell. She is survived by her children, Michael E. Arthurs II of Lebanon, Meg Strathern and her husband, Bill of Great Meadows, Robert Chrouch and his wife, Judy of Nazareth, PA, Mary Beth Paolini and her husband, John of Whitehouse Station and three sisters, Mary Nestor of Brooklyn, NY, Betty Barnes of Long Island and Catherine Gustafson of Maryland. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Megan, Michael III, Robert J., Katelynn, Billy, Steven, John, Matthew, Samantha and her two great grandchildren, Tiana and Michael. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Bridgewater.
