Obituary of Lester R. Hunt
Lester R. Hunt, age 81 of Whitehouse, NJ, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
Born in Raritan, NJ, he was the son of the late Hiram and Margaret Hunt.
Les had been a resident of Whitehouse for the past 52 years.
He was proud to have served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Les was a hard working self-employed carpenter, managing Lester R. Hunt Inc. until his retirement in 2006.
A dedicated family man, he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting and had played on several bowling leagues.
Les was predeceased by his dear sister, Ella Gaghan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Dottie, his two sons, Billy and his wife, Kelly and David and his wife, Nicole both of Whitehouse Station; his two daughters, Lori Sutphen and her husband, Rob of Whitehouse and Karen Anderson and her husband, Richie of High Bridge; his brother, Robert Hunt of Whitehouse Station; his two sisters, Margaret Frankenfield of Bridgewater and Marion Bradlely of Chester Springs, PA and his 10 cherished grandchildren, Melanie and her husband, Nicholas, Chad, Paige, Gunnar, Carter, Billy, Emmy, Libby, Jenna and Drew.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at noon at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Rural Hill Cemetery in Whitehouse.
