Obituary of Elsie O. Elkins

Elsie O. Elkins, age 91 of Skillman, NJ, died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Stonebridge At Montgomery Health Care in Skillman, NJ.

Born in NYC, NY, she was the daughter of the late Erminio and the late Maria Nociolo.

Elsie had resided in NYC then later Queens where she was an Elementary School teacher. She was a member of the United Federation of Teachers.  After her retirement she moved to Lawrenceville, NJ and spent the last eight years in Skillman.

Elsie enjoyed travelling, reading and completing the Sunday, NY Times crossword puzzle.

One of her daily routines was to read the NY Times. She had a true love for children and touched countless lives while teaching.  She continued to have a special bond with children and others throughout her life because she was so captivating and aware of all the latest news and happenings in the world today.

Elsie was predeceased by her brother, John Nociolo.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Nociolo, nieces and nephews, Larry Nociolo and his wife, Eileen, Linda McDonnell and her husband, Mike, Don Nociolo, and Barbara Mangano and her husband, Joe. She is also survived by many grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 23, 2017at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale.  Family and friends may visit with the family prior to the mass from 8:00 to 9:15 at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Annandale.
