Obituary of John C Keida
John C. Keida, age 94 of Readington Twp. passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
Born in Great Meadows, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Wanda Keida.
John had lived in Edison before moving to Readington Twp. over 42 years ago.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and was proud of the time he had served his country.
He grew up on a farm where one of his many jobs was driving produce to the market. This eventually led to him owning his own trucking business called John C. Keida Trucking.
He was a life member of the Polish American Club and a very active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station where he was an usher and a fourth degree Knight of Columbus, Council 6930. He was an avid gardener and loved to have company and entertain.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lillian in 1994; by his two brothers, Henry and Edward and his two sisters, Stella Lenciewicz and Jean Kurdyla.
He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
Entombment will be in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hunterdon Hospice who made it possible for him to remain home as he wished. Donations can be sent to 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822
