To the Ercolano family: I just learned today about your loved one, Neal’s passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I met Neal in 1969 at Fort Benning, GA where we both graduated from the Non-commissiony Officers’ Academy. I’m certain that you all know this, but he was always a caring and compassionate human being! I am so sorry that we didn’t stay in closer contact. May the love of God continue to sustain you in your loss, even now and forevermore.
Bernard E. Thompson, Esq. of Washington, DC

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. He was my 5th, 6th and 7th grade teacher back at Branchburg Central. He was by far the best teacher I have ever had and I think of the many things he taught us quite often. He had a caring heart and truly cared about each and everyone of his students. May you be at peace with fond memories of him.

I knew Neal for many years, he was a great guy. Lettered his trucks and the fruit stand signs.
Did a lot of shopping at his stand. Use to go out of my way to stop at the stand to pick up fruit and spend time talking with him.so sorry for your loss.

I knew Neal Ercolano as a wonderful, caring teacher. I know many over the years felt the same. He advocated for me personally and helped me through a tough year, well tough for a 6th grader. I have never forgotten his kindness, joy in teaching, or his sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss, please know Neal Ercolano had an impact on the lives of many, probably more so than even he knew. With deepest sympathy.

Sorry for your loss.
Neal was a great friend, teaching partner and God-father to my daughter Amy.
I worked for him on weekends and in the summer and winter months when he first started his fruit stand in Califon.
He was someone who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed something. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family

A good friend is gone but not forgotten. What started out as a casual business relationship evolved into a strong friendship complete with impromptu phone conversations, lunches, the occasional ball game and lively discussions about sports (Yankees-boo, Red Sox-yay), politics, people and countless unimportant topics. I will miss him.

So sad to hear of his passing...although we moved to Florida 4 years ago, we still have constant contact w/family & friends in Hunterdon County. I actually visited Brook Run Farm and spoke w/Neil in July 2014. He was such a nice guy. R.I.P.
