Obituary of Kathleen M Makowicz
Kathleen M. Makowicz, “Kitty,” age 86, of Easton, PA, died on Sunday, July 21, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones at Country Meadows Retirement Community in Easton.
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, she was the youngest daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Charters.
For many years after her marriage, Kitty lived in Kearny. In the late 1970’s, she moved to Pattenburg and, ultimately, to Easton fifteen years ago.
Kitty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Kitty had several jobs over the years before her retirement, including a number of years at Cozze Brothers in Jutland, NJ. She loved to play Bingo, and especially loved watching her two favorite shows – Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. It was well-known to all that she was not to be disturbed during her shows. Although Kitty suffered more loss than most over the years, she remained strong and unwavering in her dedication to her faith and her family. Those who knew her will forever miss her kind, generous and indomitable spirit.
Kitty was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Mitchell, in 2018. She was pre-deceased by her son, Daniel in 1981, and her daughter, Karen Hayes in 1995. She was also pre-deceased by her five siblings: Arthur Charters, Lillian Mueller, Florence Rentowicz, Madelyn Cozze and Mary Lou Kowalski.
She is survived by her son, Mitchell J. Makowicz, Jr. and his wife, Jacqueline of Hillsborough, and by her five grandchildren: Kristopher Hayes, Brian Hayes, Kelly Hayes, Andrew Makowicz and Carly Makowicz. She is also survived by her cherished three-month-old great-grandson, Mason Magin Hayes.
