Obituary of Thomas D. Tobin
Thomas D. Tobin, age 68 of Bridgewater, NJ, died peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ.
Born on February 1, 1951 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Michael and the late Helen (Baker) Tobin. Tom lived in Staten Island, Middletown, NJ, and Smithfield, VA before residing in Bridgewater, NJ. He graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School and Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Tom was a coffee Commodities Trader for Lonray Inc. in NYC and Head Coffee Buyer for Chock Full of Nuts and Sara Lee, both in NYC and Masimmo Zannetti in Smithfield, VA. He belonged to the New York Green Coffee Association.
Tom had a great sense of humor and played the piano beautifully. Gatherings at the family home usually included Tom playing the piano for everyone.
Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Theresa E. (Clyne) Tobin, his son, Sean and his wife, Nicole of Middletown and his daughter, Ellen A. (Tobin) De Pinto and her husband, Nick of Whitehouse Station, NJ. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, James Tobin, Thomas Tobin, Nicholas De Pinto, and Daniel De Pinto and his siblings, Michael Tobin, Patrick Tobin, and Karen Tobin McDonald.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
Friends may also visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a service to immediately follow.
