Obituary of Patricia B Richards

Patricia B. Richards, age 88, of Whitehouse Station, NJ died on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,Somerset in Somerville, N.J.
Born on December 11, 1930  She was the daughter of the late Julius and Eula Blalock.

A resident of Oldwick since the 1960’s, Pat moved to Whitehouse Station five years ago.

Patricia graduated in 1952 from nursing school a registered nurse. She went on to get her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Arts degrees at Trenton State college. This allowed her to work in the school systems first as a school nurse and then ultimately a social worker in the Ewing Township school system.

She was a very active and dedicated member of the Whitehouse United Methodist Church in Whitehouse where among other things, she taught an adult Bible Study class and shared her talent for singing in the church choir. She loved anything to do with music and singing; and for many years was a member of Sweet Adeline's Acapella Group. Pat was a proud and devoted mother and grandmother who cherished the fact that she was able to attend the graduations of every one of her grandchildren, as well as having attended many of their activities while growing up. Pat loved to travel and was fortunate to have taken a number of cruises throughout her lifetime.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Earl in 2007.

She is survived by her two sons, Earl "Bobby" Richards and his wife, Kimberly of Bridgewater and Wayne Richards of Whitehouse Station; her two daughters, Judy Young and her husband, Milton of Lebanon and Catherine Reed of Oldwick as well as her seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Whitehouse United Methodist Church in Whitehouse.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, Oct 9 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.

Burial will be in Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
