Dina Jannone

Obituary of Dina E Jannone

Dina E. Jannone, age 62, passed away on March 20th, 2020.

She was born on June 16, 1957, to the late Robert Eodice and Rosina Novello.

Dina was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage, a dog lover- specifically golden retrievers, she lived for her summers down the shore with her family and friends in Long Beach Island.  Dina lived her life to the fullest, and was passionate about boating, reading and gardening.  She was a bright, and happy person who treasured any time spent with her husband, David Jannone.

As an Eastern flight attendant, Dina was able to travel often.  She was quickly promoted to the senior flight instructor, where she supervised a staff of flight attendants and taught first aid & CPR.  Soon after starting her job at Eastern, Dina met David on a blind date in 1981, and they were married in 1983.  When talking about their first date, Dina always described it as love at first sight, and referred to David as her soulmate.  Some of their best spent time together was on their boat, The Summer Wind II, where they stayed every summer weekend. Dina eventually left her job at Eastern to raise her family in Pittstown, NJ.

Dina is survived by her husband, David Jannone; her children, Lisa (Jannone) Plumstead and Eric Plumstead, Joe Jannone, and Christina Jannone; her grandchildren, Emma Plumstead and John Plumstead; her mother, Rosina Novello; her sister and brother in law, Lisa DeNero and Jimmy DeNero; and niece and nephew, Jenna DeNero and John DeNero.

Dina’s favorite quote really exemplifies her life: “A bell's not a bell 'til you ring it - A song's not a song 'til you sing it - Love in your heart wasn't put there to stay - Love isn't love 'til you give it away.”

A celebration of Dina’s life will be held sometime in the summer.
