There’s so much I could say to describe Grandpa, but there really isn’t anything I can write that would truly do him justice. Saying that he was a good person, a proud marine, and family man wouldn’t cover the half of it. I’ve never seen a relationship like my grandparents’. If we can all find someone to love us even half as much as Grandpa loved my Grandma over their 67yrs of marriage, then we should consider ourselves extremely lucky. Above all, he was a best friend to many. Spending a greater portion of my childhood with him was a true blessing. The amount of patience he possessed was put to the test when I would play The Lion King over and over again every single day. Not once did he ever complain, he would watch it with me every time purely because he knew it made me happy. He was selfless. I will always cherish the times when we would solve puzzles, watch game shows, work in the shed, and go on walks together. He looked out for our family and I know he will continue to do so from Heaven. He will always be with us.

Dear Daddy,
I think of things you used to say
And all that you would do.
At some point, every single day,
My thoughts will turn to you,
To lose you was a bitter wrench,
The pain cut to my core.
I cried until my tears ran out
And them I cried some more.
This wouldn't be your wish for me
that I'd be forever sad
So I try to remind myself of the happy times we had
I know I can't be with you now
And you can't be with me
But safe inside my heart you'll stay
That's where you'll always be.
We love you Daddy.....Mark and Terry xoxoxoxoxox P.S Mark said to say "Semper Fidelis"

I will forever remember Grandpa as a strong and adventurous person. I cherish the many stories he enjoyed telling about his childhood, his family and his amazing travels. His excitement and vivid story telling was just one of his many wonderful qualities. I will also remember him as a kind and encouraging great grandpa, who always listened to his great grandson Jack, tell of his many technology interests and inventions. We love you Grandpa and wish you a Heaven filled with lush gardens, amazing sites to see and all the apple pies you can eat.
